History of the Moment: The Concession, Today
The Tradition Continues on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

The Concession is named for one of golf's finest moments in history. At the end of 1969 Ryder Cup Match at Royal Birkdale in England, Jack Nicklaus conceded a two-foot putt to Tony Jacklin on the last green. Today, that gesture is considered one of the finest acts of sportsmanship in golf history.

Jack Nicklaus has designed a Signature Golf Course in association with Tony Jacklin, with an adjoining residential community that mirrors the ideals of Ryder Cup competition. It’s a course that celebrates the level of sportsmanship inherent in Jack Nicklaus’s concession at Royal Birkdale.
