BRADENTON, Fla.  – Geary Leathers took over as the new General Manager at The Concession Golf Club May 1.

After graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in 1978, Geary managed some of the most prestigious Army Officers’ Clubs in Europe and the U.S. After six years of doing so, Geary decided to focus his management and hospitality skills in the private golf club industry.

Since then, Geary has acted as a consultant at more than 30 prestigious private golf clubs around the world, either in the position of General Manager or other senior level roles. Some of the clubs that Geary managed include Yorba Linda Country Club (Southern California), Eaglebrook Golf Club (Chicago, Ill.), South Bend Country Club (Illinois), Golf Club of Oklahoma (Tulsa, Okla.), Broad Bay Country Club (Virginia Beach, Va.), Port Royal Golf Club (Hilton Head, S.C.), Hunt Valley Country Club (Hunt Valley, Md.), Hershey Country Club (Hershey, Pa.), Lely Golf Club and Resort (Naples, Fla.), ChampionsGate Golf Resort (Orlando, Fla.), Brookstone Country Club (Atlanta, Ga.), St. Mellion International (Cornwall, England) and Robena Woods (Australia).

While Geary enjoyed consulting and living in different regions of the world, he decided to make southwest Florida his permanent home in accepting this new position. Geary is looking forward to providing leadership and service to the staff and Members of The Concession.

A former United States Golf Association (USGA) Committee member, Geary maintains professional affiliations with the Club Managers of America Association (CMAA), National Golf Foundation (NGF), Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA), National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA), World Golf Foundation and Golf 2020.
